The Black Lives Matter movement has succeeded in educating and enlightening society at large about the need to give more support to the black community and black-owned businesses. All we ask is that you spend more with black owned business each month, and if you can, support the black business campaigns and activities out there.

Our aim is to make it easy for you to do this, so to keep up the momentum and exposure that BLM has brought to black businesses this month, we’ve created #BlackBizDay, which will take place on the 2nd day of every month (the monthiversary of #BlackOutTuesday).

TAKE THE BLACK BIZ CHALLENGE

Business owners and customers from around the world, especially in the USA, UK, France, Germany and South Africa, are all taking the challenge. Here’s how to take part:

On the 2nd day of the month (2nd August, 2nd September, etc.) you should

  • Publish a post on social media, and pledge to spend money on some black-owned businesses during the month
  • In your post, tag 5 or more people and challenge them to repost/make their own post with the same pledge, and remind them to tag 5 or more people as well to keep the chain going
  • Tag @@diversityforumlive and our media partner on Instagram for the chance to be reshared to 1million+ followers, especially if you’re looking to promote yourself or your own business.

You can copy and paste these bullet points into your caption so the people you challenge next will know how it works. For the post itself, you can publish anything from a photo of yourself to a product/brand you love, a short video about why you think others should join the challenge or use one of our square or long templates from HERE

Join us as we encourage the world to make supporting black businesses a way of life.
